Exiles to Glory

Author: Jerry Pournelle

Genre: Science Fiction

Year: 1978

Rating: 8 of 10

A quick fun read, nothing too heady, just an entertaining story. The story begins on a near future earth in the slums, and one gets the impression that the slums are wide spread. Bureaucracy is rampant and the people are divided into anti-technology groups and those who think science can save the world. From there the protagonist is brought into a conspiracy that leads him into a space mission to the asteroid belt. Half the book takes place on a spaceship and the other half on Ceres. Love interests, political conspiracy, corruption and general space adventures ensue. This book was not a profound read and in the future I will probably forget that I read it, but if you are just looking for entertainment for a few days read this book makes the cut.
